Our First Abortion Reversal

Some days the miracles of God are so evident that it would be impossible not to believe in Him.

Dasia entered Destiny for Women on a chilly Wednesday in January. She was pregnant and wisely sought STI testing before acquiring an abortion. So, we tested her for STIs but also pregnancy, and we performed an ultrasound. She registered about 7 weeks pregnant, and the heartbeat was strong.

On Monday, she went to Planned Parenthood and took the first set of abortion pills. Tuesday night a man, whose opportunity to become a father was taken from him, decided to burn down Planned Parenthood. Since Dasia had no idea the fire had occurred, she had the Uber driver drop her off on Wednesday morning in order to take the second set of abortion pills. After the Uber driver dropped her off… in the rain, she discovered that Planned Parenthood was closed. So, she came next door to our clinic.

The receptionist invited Dasia to have a second ultrasound, and she agreed. Her tiny baby had doubled in size, and she began the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol. Although her commitment to life faltered occasionally, she persevered in choosing life.

The uncertainty of harming the baby left her feeling very fearful. So, she returned often to see her precious baby again and again, which gave us a marvelous opportunity to get to know her and pray for her. She possesses a delightful character, and we all love her!

As time proceeded, the baby grew according to plan. Around the 6 month mark, I asked her if this had changed her mind about abortion. She honestly didn’t know how to answer that question and remained silent. A month or so later, I invited her to speak at our annual fundraiser that summer… a week before she was due! We encouraged her to simply tell her story and prayed that God would reveal His truth to her.

The day of the fundraiser arrived. She was as pregnant as can be and absolutely cute! She shared her story and in her last statement gave her testimony of God’s providence in saving the life of her baby by saying, “I’m so glad that Planned Parenthood was closed that day or my baby would be dead.” Needless to say, the room erupted in applause!

Fast forward 9 months. Dasia got baptized, but not just her. She brought along her best friend and her sister. Since then, she has brought 10 other friends to be baptized. The miracles do not end there. She has made a commitment to celibacy and waiting for the right man to come into her life. She remains faithful to God, prays, and reads Scripture daily. Praise God for her response to the miracle of life!
